Chloe Moretz appears to be leading the hunt for Katniss Everdeen, and Kathy Reichs is out with her first young-adult novel.

Courting Katniss: Now that we know who will play Lisbeth Salander in the American movie version of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (Rooney Mara), fans are speculating about the next plum book role for a young actress: Katniss Everdeen, the teen heroine of Suzanne Collins' young-adult dystopian trilogy. The final novel, Mockingjay, shoots to the top of USA TODAY's Best-Selling Books list in its first week of sales. ET, MTV and the Los Angeles Times all say Kick-Ass star Chloe Moretz has the inside track to star in the adaptation of the first book, The Hunger Games. Twilight's Kristen Stewart is also mentioned in nearly all the online shortlists, according to The Daily Beast. The screenplay was written by Collins and revised by screenwriter Billy Ray (24,Flightplan). Production begins early next year.

Aspen Filmfest unveiled seven titles that will screen during its 32nd edition, including titles from Sundance, Toronto, SXSW, Dallas, Hot Docs, Los Angeles SilverDocs and Cleveland film festivals.

Sundance favorite “Blue Valentine” by Derek Cianfrance, which will screen at the upcoming Toronto International Film Festival is on tap as well as the UK/Australian film, “The King’s Speech” by Tom Hooper. Jeff Malmberg’s SXSW-winner, “Marwencol,” also joins the lineup in addition to Jake Scott’s “Welcome to the Rileys,” Mark Landsman’s “Thunder Soul” and J. Clay Tweel’s “Make Believe.” As previously announced, Sam Taylor-Wood’s “Nowhere Boy” will open the festival. The film, starring Kristin Scott Thomas and Aaron Johnson depicts the events and personal circumstances that led to the formation of The Beatles—specifically, the underlying family currents that shaped the creative and inspirational qualities of John Lennon during his crucial formative teenage years.

The full Aspen Filmfest lineup will be announced September 8th.

The 20-year-old actress has been dating her 24-year-old Twilight co-star for around two years. Kristen is known for her serious personality, which often sees her criticised for failing to smile in paparazzi pictures.

Kristen is currently in Montreal filming a new movie and her co-stars were stunned by the change in the young star when Robert flew to the set for a visit. All of a sudden Kristen was behaving like a giggly teenager who couldn’t stop telling jokes.

“Kristen was a joy to be around, laughing and joking – she was like a different person,” a witness told British magazine More.

Robert and Kristen have reportedly being going through a rocky patch in their relationship recently. Robert wants to live in New York, while Kristen is keen to remain in Los Angeles, but they are believed to have decided to remain in California because they can’t bear to be apart.

“There was tension between them when Rob said he wanted to escape LA and move to New York,” a source said. “But as soon as Robert flew up to Montreal to surprise her, all their troubles just melted away.

“I think when he really thought about it he realised that as much as he’d like to live in New York, he doesn’t want to be anywhere without Kristen.”

Starting September 20th, Filmmakers Symposium’s Arthouse Film Festival will run for 12 weeks at two New Jersey theatres: AMC Loews Mountainside and AMC Loews Monmouth Mall. The festival has hosted 1,393 movie premieres with 926 live guest appearances over the past 20 years.

Oscar winners and nominees Danny Aiello, Alan Arkin, James Cromwell, Frank Darabont, Tony Gilroy, Ethan Hawke, Jean-Pierre Jeunet, Jon Kilik, Melissa Leo, Viggo Mortensen, Chazz Palminteri, John Sayles, Marc Shaiman, Howard Shore, Fisher Stevenss and David Strathairn have joined Dylan Baker, Al Franken, Famke Janssen, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Delroy Lindo, Derek Luke, Mary Stuart Masterson, David Morse, Connie Nielsen, Joe Pantoliano and Kevin Smith as guest speakers who have come to share their insights with festival participants.

"The program will always be flexible in order to take advantage of opportunities as they arise," said festival director Chuck Rose. "Wonderful surprises and fantastic celebrities can pop up out of nowhere, so I try to keep the schedule as fluid as possible. In the past three years, we have premiered 101 films that later earned a total of 21 Oscar, 32 Spirit, 26 British Academy, and 16 European Film Award nominations."

"Even before we started 20 years ago, I have worked to create an international VIP network of filmmakers, actors, journalists, critics and film industry pros whose jobs involve finding and evaluating the cream of Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, Venice, Berlin, Tribeca and the other important film festivals. We also work to ferret out potential hits in the development and production stages so we are ready to pounce on the best films first," explained Rose.
